Things left unsaid - Yet another iphone review.

Things left unsaid - A first time iphone/ios user review

- Frame rate/hz are kinda ok for me as most apps will work without any problem on 60hz. I have a 120hz Android.
- So I will start with the worst shit first, no location services toggle on/off which is so annoying coming from Android. Even with the create shortcuts thing, you can't put up a location toggle on/off. How inconvenient.!
- Every time I receive an ebook (epub format) on WhatsApp document, it doesn't automatically appear on the Books app library. I need to open the book in WhatsApp & send to Books app first. And once I open the book on WhatsApp there's no going back option. It's like the WhatsApp wallpaper changes to the ebook front cover/front page + you won't see what you are typing in reply like "thanks for the ebook". You can't open any other window/chat. You need to fully close the WhatsApp (swipe up, hold, close app) and open it again. What a bit of nonsense. And so much for the claim all apps perform buttery smooth.
- Double click to install app is another annoying thing. Just download & install for God's sake. Needing to reconfirm it again is like having to enter the captcha on every second page. (Looking at you IRCTC.) And I happen to be someone who doesn't like using side/physical buttons at all.
- Still 'double tap to lock' or something similar to lock the screen is absent. What are they doing over there in Cupertino or wherever. (Reason: read in the above comment) Don't come at me with triple tap on the back to lock. Damn to slow.!
- Wifi reception is poor compared to my Android. Sometimes when I am on the fringes of a network, it doesn't detect any at all while my Android never failed to detect the network. Happened once with mobile data also at network blind spot. (Used the same network & sim/service for both the devices.)
- Stupid keyboard without fullstop or comma on front pad. Need to press additional button for that. Already I am hating the swipes/gestures. Very inefficient process in general. I like the recent apps, home & back button in that order precisely at the bottom of the screen. Your fingers move through air faster (less friction) & effortlessly than dragging on glass/plastic/whatever.
- Another example of the mess that is iphone is once you tap to type a message in Instagram, there's no way to pull (hide) the keyboard down to view messages/posts above. Only way you can hid it is swipe down fast that it hides the keyboard but it also ends up scrolling past the whole month or two down. What a serious mess.! Check Linus Tech Tips' youtube channel - for more criticism on the mess (read keyboard)
Let's get back to business
- Another shitshow is that I wasn't able to set up an alarm without first setting up my sleep & wake up timings on the health app. What if I don't want my phone to know my sleep timings, what if I sleep & wake up at different times on different days as per my work shift. No! If I want to set up an alarm for a quick siesta, just goddman allow me to put up one without making me going through all the other mess Apple's put in for me.
Well, I am tired with the rants. So stopping for now. And this might just be the first & last iphone I am gonna use.
